Gas-Proof Kennels Are Available as Israelis Fear Chemical Attack

JERUSALEM — Israelis worried about what might happen to their pets during a chemical-weapons attack can rest easier. A Tel Aviv company on Friday began advertising gas-proof kennels.
The Jerusalem Post carried a front-page ad for the kennels, marketed by a company that already sells gas-proof tents for babies and special gas masks for Orthodox men whose beards and side curls interfere with the fit of a standard mask.
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has threatened to attack the Jewish state with chemical weapons.
The Israeli government has so far distributed more than 3 million gas masks to the country’s 4.7 million civilians.
