SOFIA, Bulgaria — Two reactors at Bulgaria’s only nuclear power plant have been shut down because of a breakdown, Bulgarian Radio said Tuesday.
The radio, quoting Bulgarian utility officials, said the breakdown at the plant in Kozloduy, in northern Bulgaria on the Danube River, has not affected the Soviet-designed nuclear reactors. It gave no further details but said the shutdown was a precaution.
The breakdown occurred less than a week after international experts expressed concern about safety at the plant.
