KCET in Los Angeles has been awarded the Governor’s Transportation Award 1990, in the category of outstanding achievement, for the station’s ride-sharing program.
KCET offers employees who share rides two extra vacation days, a guaranteed ride home, flextime and the option of tele-commuting. More than 25% of KCET’s 295 full-time employees participate in car-pooling, officials said.
The award was announced in advance of RideShare week, which began on Monday.
