JVC, MCA Create Record Company: Victor Co. of Japan has agreed to create a company with MCA Inc. subsidiary, MCA Entertainment Group. The new firm will develop Japanese artists as well as market MCA’s three labels--MCA, Geffen and GRP--in Japan. The pact follows talks by JVC’s parent company, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., to buy MCA Inc. However, company officials said the move was not related to the buyout talks.
