* Rory Murphy has been named vice president of franchising for Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc. He succeeds Frank Karcher, who left the company to become the Carl’s Jr. franchisee of 12 restaurants in Tucson. In his new position, Murphy will direct all domestic franchising for Carl’s Jr. and supervise operations at 129 franchised restaurants in California, Arizona, Nevada and Oregon. Murphy was previously the company’s regional director in the Los Angeles area.
