ORLANDO, Fla. — Tammy Bakker’s church can hold services at its warehouse ministry here Sunday after winning a zoning dispute.
The Orange County Commission on Monday overruled the county zoning board by a vote of 4 to 1 and said the site of Bakker’s New Covenant Ministries would not be unsafe for church services and a radio-TV broadcast studio.
Bakker began holding services earlier this year at the site but was ordered to stop because her permit called only for operation of the studio.
She said she was “delighted and very grateful” about Monday’s ruling. She said her husband, Jim Bakker, will be happy as well.
