GTE Directories Service Corp. Sued: The firm and a sales representative were sued Thursday by a locksmith who claims that he repeatedly tried to cancel a GTE Yellow Pages ad. The Los Angeles Superior Court suit by William D. Lehr says the sales rep falsely assured Lehr that the ad would be canceled. But it appeared and was seen by Lehr’s boss--who then fired him because it indicated that he was going into business for himself. The suit seeks unstated damages including more than $1 million in punitive damages plus a court order barring the company from billing Lehr for the ad. (Filed July 26, 1990. Case No. BC006693)
