Surplus Olympic Funds Granted to 13 Agencies

The Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles, the group charged with distributing Southern California youth’s $90-million share of the 1984 Olympic surplus, announced $444,237 in 13 new grants, bringing to $17.8 million the money distributed.
The largest grant was $93,600 awarded to the California Handicapped Skiers Foundation to provide 500 area youths with ski instruction at Bear Mountain. Three grants of $20,000 each went to gymnastics clubs in Ojai, Corona and Signal Hill, while an $18,400 grant went to a gymnastics club in the West San Fernando Valley.
