Marina del Rey : Boat Launch Improvements
- Share via
The county Board of Supervisors has approved plans to improve boat launching facilities for the public and the Sheriff’s Department at Marina del Rey.
The supervisors Tuesday accepted plans for rebuilding the concrete launching ramp and adjoining wooden docks used by recreational boaters in the small-craft harbor.
The refurbishment at the Fiji Way boat ramp will take at least four months to complete, after the project has been put out to bid, officials said.
In addition, the county has received a $20,000 grant from the California Department of Boating and Waterways to buy two hydraulic lifts for sheriff’s patrol boats. The life of the 20-foot boats will be lengthened because the lifts permit the department to store the boats out of water, sheriff’s officials said.
