CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Bill Cosby, television’s well-known dad, may be a ghost soon, but he was quite visible to tens of thousands of visitors at the Riverbend Festival on Father’s Day weekend.
Cosby, wearing a Dad T-shirt saying “Ghost Dad” to promote an upcoming film by that name, kept many of the 100,000 estimated party-goers spellbound during a 75-minute monologue Friday night, festival organizers said.
Part of his routine included asking the audience to ponder the philosophical question of why humans continue to care for their young when animals get rid of them after six months.
The star of “The Cosby Show” asked for only one prop--a chair with no arms to be placed center stage, said Riverbend chief Bruce Storey.
The festival runs through Sunday.
