NAMES IN THE NEWS : Chet Atkins Misses Bush’s Call

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — President Bush told guitarist Chet Atkins’ wife that turning 66 “doesn’t hurt a bit.”
Bush, who celebrated his 66th birthday Tuesday, telephoned the country musician’s home this morning to thank the musician for calling the White House a day earlier with birthday wishes.
Atkins was away from home eating breakfast, but his wife Leona spoke to the President for about five minutes.
Mrs. Atkins said Bush remarked about his birthday, “It doesn’t hurt a bit.”
