EAST BERLIN — East German police have arrested one of West Germany’s most wanted leftist terrorist suspects, the second such arrest of an alleged Red Army Faction member in a week, the government-run news agency said today.
ADN said Inge Viett, 46, was arrested late Tuesday in the East German city of Magdeburg.
She is accused of taking part in the murder of prominent West Berlin Judge Guenter von Drenkmann in 1974 and the kidnaping a year later of West Berlin Christian Democratic leader Peter Lorenz.
In recent days, West German wanted posters appeared in Magdeburg, with names and pictures of Viett and nine other accused fugitive terrorists, according to ADN.
