SOUTHERN SECTION SOFTBALL ROUNDUP : La Habra Stops Foothill in 12 Innings

Cathy Turner doubled in a run in the 12th inning to give La Habra High School a 3-2 victory over Foothill in a Southern Section 4-A Division wild-card softball playoff game Wednesday at La Habra.
Turner’s double drove in freshman Danielle Ortega, who led off the inning with a single. Ortega also drove in the tying run with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh, and pitched a complete game, striking out six and allowing six hits and no walks.
La Habra (15-11) took a 1-0 lead in the sixth before Foothill (17-12) scored twice in the seventh.
In a 1-A wild-card game:
Calvary Chapel 9, Connelly 1--Georgie Bogert pitched a six-hitter, struck out nine and walked none to lead Calvary Chapel (8-5-1) over Connelly (4-6) at Davis Park in Costa Mesa. Venise Garcia had two hits, scored twice and had four RBIs.
