The president and chief executive of the Student Loan Marketing Assn., Edward R. Fox, is resigning to become dean of the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University. Fox will leave the company, known as Sallie Mae, around Labor Day to assume his new position at the nation’s oldest graduate business school. Fox was Sallie Mae’s first employee 17 years ago when he was hired as its president and chief executive.
