Donie Leads Scoggin in Platform Diving

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Scott Donie was the leading qualifier in the men’s platform semifinals of the U.S. Indoor Diving Championships Wednesday, ahead of Matt Scoggin, defending champion in the indoor and outdoor platform.
Donie, the NCAA three-meter springboard and platform champion, scored 565.26 points on 10 dives, to 552.57 for Scoggin.
Wendy Wyland, a seven-time U.S. platform champion, was the leading qualifier in the women’s 3-meter springboard semifinals.
