In Sunset League baseball:
Huntington Beach 4, Fountain Valley 3 (8 innings)--Designated hitter Matt Hess singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning for the Oilers’ victory.
Huntington Beach (9-5, 4-1) tied the score at 3-3 when shortstop Jason Brissey hit a two-run homer in the seventh.
Fountain Valley dropped to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in league.
Josh Faur (2-0) picked up the win in relief.
In the Foothill boys’ volleyball tournament consolation final:
Santa Ana 1, Pacifica 0--Hector Salcedo had seven kills to lead Santa Ana to a 15-10 victory. Salcedo totalled 49 kills in the single-elimination tournament for Santa Ana.
