Joey Rosselli, the Valley’s top quarterback last fall, and Clint Beauer, the Valley’s top receiver, orally committed Tuesday to attend Division I schools.
Rosselli, a 6-foot-1 left-handed passer from Alemany High, will attend Arizona State, where he will have the opportunity to play both baseball and football. Beauer, from Canyon High, will attend Nevada Reno.
Rosselli, a Times All-Valley football selection, led area quarterbacks in passing last year, throwing for 2,402 yards. He completed 169 of 288 passes (58.7%) and 17 touchdowns. During an injury-plagued baseball season last spring, Rosselli was 5-2 with a 1.86 earned-run average.
Beauer (6-3, 193), who last season caught 76 passes for 1,244 yards and 13 touchdowns, also visited New Mexico and Colorado State.
