The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday approved pay raises for 30 top city administrators, passing over only City Treasurer Leonard Rittenberg, who received no raise.
Ten department heads got raises of 7%, while 20 others got 4% in the city’s annual review of executive salaries. Clifton Moore, head of the Airport Department, emerged as the highest paid administrator. His 4% pay hike brings his annual salary to $160,087.
The council voted unanimously for the raises after a two-hour closed session. A source said Rittenberg was not considered for a raise because he is the subject of a Personnel Department report that may result in disciplinary action.
The raises are retroactive to last July.
