Bell & Howell has named William J. White chairman, president and chief executive. He replaces Nils Johansson, the company’s chief financial officer, who has been interim CEO. White, 51, was president and CEO of Whitestar Graphics Inc., which was acquired by the William Blair Leveraged Capital Fund and White in 1989. Bell & Howell, which was acquired by the Robert M. Bass Group and members of management in May, 1988, is an information management company based in Chicago.
