CSUN Baseball Team Drops 2nd in a Row

After scoring two runs in the first inning Saturday, visiting Cal State Northridge struggled and fell to Nevada Las Vegas, 5-3. It was the Matadors’ second consecutive nonconference baseball loss.
CSUN (1-2) had eight hits, led by Craig Clayton with three and Greg Shockey with two.
Scott Sharts, a University of Miami transfer and an All-Southern Section selection at Simi Valley High, started on the mound for CSUN. He gave up three earned runs, four hits and 10 walks in 5 1/3 innings.
