4 Outstanding Backs Run Away With Honors Among Southeast All-Stars

Four great runners--Ivan Wilson of South Gate, Charles Levy of Lynwood, Ron Papazian of Whittier Christian and Rudy Ramirez of Bell Gardens--head The Times’ Southeast All-Star High School Football Team.
The defensive backfield is also impressive, with Chuck Stafford of Norwalk, Travis Carter of Glenn, Miguel Cortez of Montebello and Carlos Martinez of South Gate.
Also on the team are linemen Chris Emch, Puna Peko and Aaron Rodts of Whittier, defensive lineman Raul Garcia and linebacker Frank Ozuna of El Rancho, linebacker Valentino Hanks of South Gate, defensive lineman Mike Cardona of La Mirada, Lynwood linebacker Kali Williams, wide receiver Scott Alvarez of California High, and offensive linemen Memo Watkins of Bell Gardens, Chris Andresen of Warren, Richard Brown of Santa Fe and Ruben Rodriguez of Glenn.
The quarterback is Montebello’s Ray Maldonado and the kicker is Jessie Carrillo of El Rancho.
