Stevens to Be Honored for Thwarting Nazis

Andrew E. Stevens, a native of Hungary who as a runner for Raoul Wallenberg helped Jews escape the Nazis during World War II, will be honored as a man of the year by Los Angeles Men’s ORT at its annual Hanukkah brunch at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Century Plaza.
Stevens, a real estate developer in Los Angeles, has a 40-year association with ORT, having studied at the ORT School in Munich after the war. ORT operated schools in Israel, the United States and 26 other countries to train Jews in technological and vocational fields. Information: (213) 856-0255.
