Texas Group Boosts Stake in Atomic Waste Disposer

A group of Texas investors, including the Houston investment advisory company Sanders Morris Mundy Inc., boosted its stake in American Ecology Corp., an Agoura Hills disposer of radioactive waste, from 5.9% to 11%. The group, which includes principals in Sanders Morris, said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it bought 151,345 American Ecology shares between Oct. 12 and Nov. 28 for $6.50 to $8.30 each.
