Chatsworth’s Sercomp Bought by Japanese Firm

Sercomp Corp., a Chatsworth producer of computer printer ribbons, has announced its acquisition by Mitsubishi Pencil Co., a Japanese maker of printer ribbons and pens. The price was not disclosed.

Sercomp, an 11-year-old firm that had been privately held, employs about 200 people. The company said Mitsubishi Pencil sought the purchase to expand its U.S. and European distribution.
