ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines Inc. said today it plans a major expansion of operations at Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport with financing from $347.9 million in tax-exempt bonds issued by the city of Atlanta.
Delta, based in Atlanta, needs more space at the airport to accommodate more than 500 planes on order over the next decade and for other expansion such as a hazardous waste incinerator, a waste treatment facility, a paint shop hangar and expanded ground transportation systems, a spokesman said.
