Santa Fe Railway to Start Delivery Service: Santa Fe Railway has formed a partnership with J. B. Hunt Transport, an Arkansas trucking company, to make door-to-door shipments in the Los Angeles and Chicago areas. The partnership, to be called Quantum, is directed at shippers of high-value merchandise, such as china or furniture, who do not normally ship by rail. Santa Fe said it expects Quantum to earn a profit immediately and to bring in $90 million in revenue in two to three years.
