Bugle Boy Suit Charges Trademark Infringement

Bugle Boy Industries, a Simi Valley-based apparel maker, said it sued EBS-Jeans West, alleging that the specialty store chain infringed on a Bugle Boy trademark.
Bugle Boy, in its suit filed in federal court in Los Angeles, alleged that EBS-Jeans West, a unit of Edison Brothers Stores, illegally adopted and used Bugle Boy’s “Special Issue” trademark and improperly placed the “Special Issue” label on pants it sold in California. The suit seeks at least $2.5 million in damages.
Alan Sachs, a vice president for legal matters at St. Louis-based Edison Brothers, declined comment on the suit.
