Four Local Artists Win Dewar’s Awards

Four young professional artists from the Los Angeles area have won $2,000 each in the 1989 Dewar’s Young Artists Awards. They are Bryan Pezzone (music), John Vargas (acting), Richard Wyatt (visual arts/painting) and Charles Webb (literature). The new awards recognized 10 young professional artists, ages 25-40, from throughout California. Some 21 local and regional arts councils were involved in the nomination process.
