Ex-Neiman Marcus Official Wins Suit: A federal court jury in Dallas awarded $790,000 to David Dworkin, former president of the Neiman Marcus specialty store chain, and determined that he was wrongfully dismissed. The verdict grew out of lawsuits filed in connection with the restructuring two years ago of Carter Hawley Hale Stores, during which Neiman Marcus Group was spun off and General Cinema Corp. gained control of that company. Dworkin, now president of Bonwit Teller, claimed that he had an employment contract but was later dismissed despite assurances by General Cinema that his job was secure. General Cinema claimed that he resigned.
