DALLAS — Women golfers, following the lead of the PGA and Senior tours, will play a skins game during the Memorial Day weekend next year.
The LPGA announced today that Nancy Lopez, JoAnne Carner, Jan Stephenson and a golfer yet to be named will play for $360,000 in prize money at the Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Tex., May 26 and 27.
Nine holes will be played each day in a format that will feature a $10,000 “skin” on each of the first six holes, $20,000 on each of the next six holes and $30,000 on each of the last six holes.
One player must win a hole to take the skin. If no one wins the skin, the money is carried forward to the next hole.
