High School Roundup : Lancers Sweep Camarillo and Stay Unbeaten

Thousand Oaks High, the top-ranked girls’ volleyball team in the Southern Section 4-A Division, kept its record unblemished by thumping host Camarillo, 15-9, 15-6, 15-7, in a Marmonte League match Thursday.
The win improved the Lancers’ record to 5-0 in league play, 9-0 overall. Camarillo fell to 2-3 in league matches. Amy Chellevold led the way with nine kills and seven service aces. She also served 10 consecutive points in third game.
In other volleyball matches:
Sylmar d. Monroe 12-15, 15-7, 15-12, 17-15--Sylmar (5-1, 1-1) won a Valley Pac-8 match at Monroe on the strength of Carie Fuller’s 12 kills and Griselda Vasquez’s nine assists and 12 digs.
Campbell Hall d. Crossroads 15-7, 15-11, 15-4--Senior middle blockers Kyrsten Williams and Veronika Haslinger pounded eight kills each for host Campbell Hall (7-2, 4-1) in a Delphic League match.
Montclair Prep d. Western Christian, 15-8, 15-6, 12-15, 15-13--Nikki Smith had 11 kills to lead Montclair Prep (5-3, 2-0) to an Alpha League victory over visiting Western Christian (4-4, 0-2).
WATER POLO
Crespi 5, Loyola 4--Matt Stainner scored with 1:27 to play to lift the Celts to a Del Rey League win. Rusty King scored two goals for Crespi (8-3, 4-1).
Tim Flynn scored two goals for Loyola (6-6, 2-4).
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Kennedy 4, Chatsworth 3--Carla Jewell and Christy Mullins recorded singles wins for Kennedy (5-1) in the Valley Pac-8 Conference opener at Kennedy.
In doubles, Terri Aldrete and Sharyn Olseker of Kennedy also recorded a win.
Louisville 16, Notre Dame 2--Shellee Gautreau and Maureen Siffermann both recorded three singles wins and Laura Fercano won two singles matches as Louisville (9-1, 2-0) won a San Fernando Valley League match.
