LOCAL : Man’s Body Found Near Palmdale

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found in the desert near Palmdale, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported today.
The man appeared to have been shot to death, Deputy Hal Grant said. The body was found about 6 p.m. Thursday by someone who was driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle in a remote desert area about two miles southwest of Avenue S and Tovey Avenue, Grant said.
The victim appeared to have been about 40 years old, Grant said. The body may have been dumped there, he said, but investigators did not disclose an estimate of how long the man had been dead.
