TOKYO — Vice President Dan Quayle will discuss plans for a joint U.S.-Japan space program during a visit to Tokyo, a Foreign Ministry official told a news conference today.
Quayle is expected to discuss the program with Japanese officials, including Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu, during his six-day visit, which starts Thursday.
On the agenda is the GEOTAIL satellite, which the two countries have been developing to observe a magnetic field just outside the earth’s atmosphere.
