Divorce on the Rise in South Korea

SEOUL, South Korea — Divorce is on the rise and infidelity is blamed in nearly half of the cases, according to court statistics released Friday.
Of the 20,345 cases filed with the Supreme Court in 1988, about 90% involved couples with children and 47.4% cited infidelity for the breakup.
For this year, the court said 27,778 cases already had been filed by the end of July.
