Gap Inc., San Bruno, has named Robert J. Fisher president of Banana Republic. Fisher will report to Millard S. Drexler, president of the parent company. Fisher, 34, was most recently executive vice president-merchandising for Banana Republic. Gap Inc. operates 936 stores under the names of Gap, GapKids, Banana Republic and Hemisphere.
