Body Is Discovered in Vacant Apartment

Oceanside police, acting on an anonymous phone tip, discovered the body of an unidentified man Tuesday in a vacant apartment.
Officers arrived at the apartment in the 300 block of Garrison Street about 8:30 a.m. and found the body in the bedroom, a police spokeswoman said. The victim, believed to be in his 20s, had been struck on the head by an unknown object and had been dead for more than 24 hours, police said.
