Sheff Remains Hot as U.S. Wins Title

Chris Sheff had three hits, stole a base and scored a run to help the United States to an 11-3 victory over Cuba and the gold medal Sunday in front of 6,000 at the World Junior Baseball tournament in Trois-Rivieres, Canada.
Sheff, a graduate of Laguna Hills High School, singled, stole second and scored in a five-run first inning. It was the second consecutive year the U.S. won the World Junior title.
Sheff, a member of the all-tournament team, hit .538 (14 for 26) in the tournament and led all players with eight steals.
