KDOC-TV Channel 56 has added two staff reporters to its “NewsWatch” broadcast, the only regularly scheduled television news program originating in Orange County, according to station spokesperson Tricia Krause. The general assignment reporters, Christopher Heinbaugh and Beth Bingham, bring the on-camera news team to 5, including reporter Jerilyn Donovan and anchors Michelle Merker and Pat Matthews. Heinbaugh, a Cal State Northridge graduation, was a news writer at KNX radio before joining “NewsWatch,” which airs weeknights at 8:30 p.m. Bingham, a graduate of UC San Diego, worked for an NBC television affiliate in Macon, Ga., before returning to Southern California. She will also host the station’s weekly public affairs program, “Southland Today.” Krause said that, with the addition of the two reporters, “NewsWatch” averages four Orange County stories per night.
