Power Failure Affects Compton Area
An early morning power outage left about 340 Compton residents without electricity Saturday.
The power failure, which lasted less than an hour, was in a mainly residential area bounded by Compton Boulevard on the north, Alondra Boulevard on the south, Bullis Road on the east and Oleander Avenue on the west.
A spokesman for Southern California Edison could not explain what caused the incident.
Among those affected by the outage, however, was the Compton Police Department, which operated on an emergency generator until power was restored. Police reported that there were no problems associated with the outage.
