Firm Seeks to Buy San Pedro Shipyard

An Agoura Hills-based marketing and engineering firm has announced that it has thrown its hat into the ring of bidders who are trying to buy Todd Pacific Shipyards in San Pedro after the company’s decision to close down the yard.
Intercontinental Logistics Inc., which two years ago represented Todd in its unsuccessful bid to win Greek shipbuilding contracts, said that it is negotiating with Todd and the Los Angeles Harbor Department, which leases its land to Todd.
Todd officials have said that at least three bidders are interested in taking over the San Pedro yard, but the identity of the other potential owners has not been disclosed.
According to a statement released by Intercontinental Logistics, its bid may involve “a joint cooperation or other effort” with the union representing the shipyard workers.
