Iran Hangs 8 Accused Heroin Traffickers

ATHENS — Iran publicly hanged eight drug dealers in the central Iranian city of Arak on Friday, bringing to 830 the number of accused traffickers executed this year, the official Islamic Republic News Agency said.
In a report monitored here, IRNA said that the hangings took place in Arak’s Freedom Square after the High Judicial Council confirmed death sentences handed down by Islamic revolutionary courts.
