Sports officials toured Barcelona’s newly rebuilt Olympic Stadium and declared it ready for use three years before the opening of the 1992 Summer Games.
The Spanish government spent $49.8 million to remodel the stadium, built for an international exposition in 1929 atop Montjuic Hill, which overlooks the Mediterranean port city.
