An apparent conflict jumped out at me in the article about Bircher training at camps for young people. Kevin Bearly, the Southern California coordinator for the Birch Society, had this to say, “We want them to learn to think for themselves.”
Later in the same article, “At one session, a camper asked (the lecturer), ‘What should be our attitude toward South Africa?’ ”
Independent thinking? I wonder.
