A dentist in the Amsterdam suburb of Amstelveen was accused of passing state secrets to the Soviet Union after police found military hardware and classified documents in his apartment, Dutch newspapers reported. The 47-year-old man, who runs an import-export business in addition to his dental practice, was arrested May 17 as he was about to fly out of the country, the press reports said. They said the man was released last week pending charges. The Amsterdam newspaper De Volkskrant said authorities searching his apartment found large numbers of classified documents on military products made by Dutch firms. Neither the man nor his firm was identified.
