Cypress Team Reaches Final in Softball Event

Gordon’s Panthers of Cypress won three games Saturday to advance to today’s championship game of the Hall of Fame softball tournament in Oklahoma City.
The Panthers, seeded No. 1 in the tournament, defeated the Batbusters, 1-0, in a first-round game Saturday and then the Bakersfield Blaze, 4-3, in the semifinals.
The Panthers had defeated the Blaze, 3-0, earlier in the day to win their pool. Pinkerton, who will play for California in the fall, singled and scored a run.
