Shooting Victim Dies

San Diego police said a man who was shot in Southeast San Diego on Friday afternoon died during surgery at Mercy Hospital. Few details were available Friday night, but a police spokesman said the shooting, which occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Iona Drive, appeared to be drug-related but not gang-related. Homicide officers are investigating.
