Tigers’ Trammell Goes on Disabled List

DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers have placed shortstop Alan Trammell on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 4 due to back spams.
The Tigers called up infielder Mike Brumley from their Triple-A affiliate at Toledo, Ohio, to replace Trammell.
In 20 games with the Tigers this season, Brumley hit .243 with no home runs and 2 RBIs. He batted .231 with 1 RBI in eight games with Toledo.
Trammell was hitting .249 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 173 at-bats.
