The Ventura Channel Dash powerboat race will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ventura Harbor Village. The event is the third in the Pacific Offshore Power Boat Racing Assn. schedule.
Bob Nordskog, holder of 45 world and international records, will be one of more than 30 racers competing in the 110-mile race to Santa Barbara and back.
Nordskog will race his new 40-foot Fountain Powerboat Magazine Special, a V-hull, staggered-engine craft that Nordskog calls “probably one of the best-built boats in the history of man.”
Proceeds will aid the Ventura County Special Olympics.
