The World : Marcos ‘Turn for Worse’

Former Philippines President Ferdinand E. Marcos “took a turn for the worse” and was returned to the intensive care unit of St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu, the hospital announced. The 71-year-old Marcos was put on a respirator to help him breathe and his condition was listed as guarded. Marcos, hospitalized since January with heart and respiratory ailments, was moved into intensive care from the cardiac unit, where he had been since April 12, the hospital said. Hospital officials refused to give further details.
