About $230,000 worth of women’s shorts and the two trailers in which they were stored were stolen sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning from a transport company’s yard, police said Thursday.
The 771 cases of shorts, imported from Jamaica through Los Angeles harbor, were being transported by Direct Delivery Service in the 2700 block of Kurtz Street. They were taken between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The merchandise was awaiting inspection by the Customs Service. Police and Customs agents are investigating but have no suspects.
